Principal

Alix Duggins

Ms. Alix Duggins is the Principal of the College Prep Academy. She has been a member of the Bronx Lighthouse team since 2012. During that time she has served as a Teacher Leader Fellow and Math Department Chair, taught 7th grade math, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Film & Video classes, and is now the Principal of the College Prep Academy. She has been recognized for her work by the New York City Department of Education as a Finalist for the Big Apple Teaching Awards in 2014 and by Lighthouse Academies as winner of the 7th Grade Math Transformer Award in 2013. Prior to arriving at Bronx Lighthouse, she was a member of Teach For America in the Mississippi Delta and worked in the film industry. She has Masters Degrees from Relay Graduate School of Education and The New School for Social Research, as well as a Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Central Florida.
Director of College and Career Advising

Estefany Angeles

Estefany Angeles is the Director of College and Career Advising at Bronx Lighthouse College Preparatory Academy. She is a Washington Heights native born to immigrant parents from the Dominican Republic. Prior to joining BLCPA, Estefany worked as a Program Manager for a college readiness and persistence program serving Yonkers Public Schools. Through this experience, Estefany helped coach students through high school graduation and prepare for college success. She started her career as a Teach for America corps member teaching high school math in Miami, FL, and Harlem, NY. She holds her Master's Degree in Secondary Education from Johns Hopkins School of Education and her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester in English and Economics. During her free time, Estefany enjoys mentoring students, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends!
