Alix Duggins

Duggins Photo
Ms. Alix Duggins is the Principal of the College Prep Academy. She has been a member of the Bronx Lighthouse team since 2012. During that time she has served as a Teacher Leader Fellow and Math Department Chair, taught 7th grade math, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Film & Video classes, and is now the Principal of the College Prep Academy. She has been recognized for her work by the New York City Department of Education as a Finalist for the Big Apple Teaching Awards in 2014 and by Lighthouse Academies as winner of the 7th Grade Math Transformer Award in 2013. Prior to arriving at Bronx Lighthouse, she was a member of Teach For America in the Mississippi Delta and worked in the film industry. She has Masters Degrees from Relay Graduate School of Education and The New School for Social Research, as well as a Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Central Florida.
Director of College Transitions

Alice Choi

Alice Choi is the Director of College Transitions at Bronx Lighthouse College Preparatory Academy. She works to create and enhance a college-focused culture of achievement, where high expectations and results drive students towards acceptance and success in college. She is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing all aspects of the college search, admissions, and alumni support processes. Prior to joining Lighthouse Academies, Alice worked for the Alliance for College-Ready Public Schools in Los Angeles, as a math and ELA intervention teacher. Alice started her career as a Teach For America corps member in the Bay Area, where she taught high school math to recent immigrants and refugees in Oakland. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Wellesley College.
