Jacksonville Lighthouse Charter School: Flightline Upper Academy

At Lighthouse Academies, we prepare our scholars through rigorous programs that provide them with the academic, social, and cultural foundation in order to succeed in and graduate from college. We have a unique arts-infused program and discuss college starting in Kindergarten. Our unique arts-infused curriculum, emphasis on social development and integration of diverse cultural opportunities augments learning and broadens horizons.

If the Pulaski County Special School District closes due to bad weather, then our school will also close. In the event that weather conditions become hazardous during the school day, our school will follow the early dismissal policies and notification process of the PCSSD Public Schools unless we advise you to the contrary.

Evan McGrew

Evan McGrew
Mr. McGrew was a founding teacher at Jacksonville Lighthouse Charter School and has been a Teacher Leader Fellow and the Director of School Culture. He has almost a decade of experience as an educator and has also taught in Magnet Cove School District and the Fayetteville School District. He is a graduate of Henderson State University and a native of Mountain Pine, Arkansas.

Adriane Smith

Mrs. Smith started her teaching career as a 3rd grade teacher in Georgia where she worked for five years. Most recently, she served as a 5th grade teacher and an instructional coach in Alabama where she provided support to 1st and 2nd year teachers. In addition to her responsibilities, Mrs. Smith served as the Alabama Math, Science & Technology Initiative Teacher Trainer to support Alabama teachers in the Alabama State DOE initiative to increase student knowledge and interest in math and science. Mrs. Smith earned her BA in Elementary Education from the University of Montevallo and Master’s of Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix.
