At Lighthouse Academies, we prepare our scholars through rigorous programs that provide them with the academic, social, and cultural foundation in order to succeed in and graduate from college. We have a unique arts-infused program and discuss college starting in Kindergarten. Our unique arts-infused curriculum, emphasis on social development and integration of diverse cultural opportunities augments learning and broadens horizons.

Enrolling Now 2012-13 School Year:  Deadline to submit student applications:

March 16 — Enrollment ends.   

April 3 –JLCS Lottery: 6PM: Lottery held. All parents/guardians receive letters informing them of each child’s status (accepted or wait-listed) beginning the week of April 9.

April 23 (Week of) — Parents/guardians must contact the school and notify us of intent to enroll. If we do not hear from you by May 4, your seat will be given to a wait-listed student.

May 7 (Week of ) — Physical enrollment at the school site will occur. (Please note that enrollment will not be official until the student has physically enrolled in the school. Being accepted through the lottery does not constitute physical enrollment.)

Evan McGrew

Evan McGrew
Mr. McGrew was a founding teacher at Jacksonville Lighthouse Charter School and has been a Teacher Leader Fellow and the Director of School Culture. He has almost a decade of experience as an educator and has also taught in Magnet Cove School District and the Fayetteville School District. He is a graduate of Henderson State University and a native of Mountain Pine, Arkansas.

Amanda Crowder

Ms. Crowder is a graduate of University of Arkansas at Little Rock and has been in education for over a decade as a classroom teacher, Team Leader, Department Chair, and School Improvement Coordinator. She has been a presenter at the National Middle School Conference and is a Train the Trainer for Aha Process! She is also a presenter for the Staff Development Educators in the area of Differentiated Instruction. She is National Board Certified.
