Founding Principal

Tyra L. Williams

Ms. Williams began her career with the NYCDOE as an elementary school teacher in the Bronx. After teaching grades 1-3 for 5 years, she transitioned to become a middle school teacher of English Language Arts and Social-Studies. During her seven year tenure as a middle school teacher, Ms. Williams achieved academic success and took on the role of Grade Team Leader while pursuing a master's degree in school and district leadership. Shortly thereafter, she came an Assistant Principal both on the middle and high school levels. After 4 years, Ms. Williams was accepted into the New York City Leadership Academy's Aspiring Principals' Program. Most recently, she served as middle school principal in the Soundview section of the Bronx. Ms. Williams holds a BA from State University of New York at Albany, an MS in Elementary Education from Fordham University and an MS in Administration and Supervision from The College of New Rochelle.
Founding Assistant Principal

Ms. Crystal Lilly

Crystal Lilly is the Founding Assistant Principal of MetCPA. She is a dedicated educator with more than fifteen years of experience fostering educational achievement in Elementary, Middle and High Schools within the New York City schools. She began her career as a Special Education Teacher and went on to serve as an Assistant Principal and then a Principal of a 6-12 School. She consistently worked on improving instruction and raising student achievement, under the guidance and mentorship of Dr. Lorraine Monroe. Ms. Lilly holds a Bachelors Honors Degree from City College, a Masters in Science Education from Touro College in General and Special Education, and has several Administrative Certifications in School Administration, School Business, and School District Leadership. She also holds a Graduate Certificate of Advanced Leadership Study from the College of St. Rose. Most recently, she served as the Executive Director of Education for John Hopkins University/Talent Development Secondary in New York City. Ms. Lilly worked with principals and several schools under the Johns Hopkins Early Warning Indicator program that targeted student attendance, behavior, and course performance.

Melissa Alston

Ms. Melissa Alston is the Founding Manager, Operations at MetLCS. Ms. Alston has a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Forensic Psychology and a Masters of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She began her career in Assets Protection at Target Corp, where she held several security management positions. She then went on to hold other positions at Target Corp. including merchandising and full store management. Her experience and success in leading teams led her to rapid promotion in the company, and while she loved her job, she knew she wanted more out of her career both personally and professionally. Ms. Alston, a native of the Bronx, joined the MetLCS team in order to impact the lives of scholars and ensure that each every one of them has the skills and knowledge to get to and through college. Ms. Alston is passionate about operational excellence, adult development, safety and removing obstacles to ensure scholars at MetLCS receive the best educational possible. Ms. Alston's and her team are ready to help you with any questions or issues you may have in regards to scholar transportation, the lottery, enrollment and scholar files.
