Principal

Kim Randall

Kim Randall
Mrs. Randall has more than 29 years experience in education, as a teacher, Director of Instruction, and now principal. She graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor’s degree in education, and IUPUI with a Master’s degree in education. She has since continued her education at Marian University because she believes in lifelong learning. Mrs. Randall was a mentor with the Indiana Department of Education for 10 years, helping and supporting teachers complete their licensing. She has taught grades K-3 and 6-8 and loves being a part of each child’s learning. Additionally, she has taught music and computer technology to multiple grade levels, She particularly enjoys supporting teachers in their efforts to reach and teach each child.

Jessica Hood

Jessica Hood
Mrs. Hood has been in the educational field for nine years. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Ball State University. She has experience teaching grades K-12 in Illinois, Virginia, and Indiana. Mrs. Hood became the director of instruction after teaching general music in grades K-8 at Monument for two and a half years. She strongly believes that every child deserves the best education possible which is why she is excited to help MLCS teachers push their scholars to new heights with every lesson.
Director of School Culture

Keith Story

Mr. Story holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Ball State University as well as a degree in Elementary Education from Calumet College of St. Joesph. He has taught grades K-6 and currently holds the position of Upper Academy Director of Instruction. Mr. Story has been with Lighthouse Academies since 2005 serving as a founding teacher at both Indianapolis Lighthouse Charter School and Monument Lighthouse Charter School. Additionally, Mr. Story has received the Network Top Gainer award in Mathematics four out of his five years as a teacher. In addition to a proven track record of growth in student achievement, Mr. Story also led our JV and Varsity basketball teams to win consecutive city championships in the 2009-2010 school year. He dedicates much of his time mentoring and tutoring the scholars of MLCS.
Title One Coordinator

Valerie Miller

Mrs. Miller has ten years of experience in education. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Ball State University, a Master’s Degree from Walden University in Curriculum and Instruction and is currently pursuing an Administration License from Indiana Wesleyan University. H She began her journey as an educator in 2003, as a third grade classroom teacher for Indianapolis Public Schools. After spending five years as a classroom teacher, Mrs. Miller accepted a position as a Reading First Coach; it was during this time that she discovered her joy for designing small group interventions and helping classroom teachers discover new strategies to use with their students. These new discoveries led her to Monument Lighthouse Charter School as the Title 1 Coordinator for the past 4 years. Her professional goal is to continue to be a lifelong learner and to share new strategies with upcoming educators.
