Upon reflection and acknowledgment of the school’s history, the NPBOD and its management partner launched an immediate search for an experienced dynamic turnaround leader.

On September 21, 2015, North Point appointed Beverly Echols, Ed. D as Turnaround Principal. While North Point has suffered through principalship changes each year since the founding of the school, Dr. Echols is the first school leader with the experience, expertise and maturity to lead a successful turnaround.

  • November 18th.  PTO meeting 6pm.  (All Welcome. It takes a Village.)
  • November 23rd.  Family Game Night and  Fest 4-7pm.(Date change from the calendar.  Event is now on Monday not Tuesday the 24th.)


  • December 7th.  Donuts with Beverly and Victor.  (Drop in and discuss ideas.) 7.30am-8am.

Dr. Beverly Echols

Beverly Echols
Dr. Echols holds a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership, a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work and Child Welfare. She is licensed as Wisconsin Superintendent, Principal, and Supervisor of Instruction K-12. Previous professional responsibilities and experiences include developing and monitoring School Improvement Plans, supervision of Response to Intervention Plans and extensive work with data management systems to drive instructional improvement. Dr. Echols brings 30 years of successful educational leadership to North Point. North Point has the right turnaround leader.

Artist in Residence

Tami Zwicke

Tami Zwicke
Tami Zwicke has a BFA degree from the University of Whitewater, WI. MFA from the University of Sunderland, UK. In which she lived, traveled and was commissioned to create artwork for over 5 years while living in Europe. Ms. Zwicke has credits from UWM for after school programming, ceramics and spanish. Tami focused on mixed media and recycled art in college. Her MFA thesis was on outsider art. She has has been a artist in residence at over 50 different schools and organizations around Milwaukee. Mainly working with students to create specialized projects that relate to the subject matter they studying in class. She also has held workshops in which she has taught other educators one on one techniques on how to create recycled art with students. She has also created over 50 large scale murals throughout Milwaukee working with all ages of students. Ms. Zwicke has worked as a Art Specialist for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Milwaukee for 6 years at over 30 different sites. She also successfully completed Americorps program in which she taught photography, was on the MPS board for their annual talent show, successfully produced 2 annual fine art shows and Image Maker photography show. Most recently Ms. Zwicke worked 4 years with Danceworks teaching visual arts for a intergenerational art program that worked with seniors at over 20 different sites around Milwaukee and collaborated with different schools. Organizations Tami still works for are: Milwaukee Public Theatre, Danceworks and Arts@Large. Ms. Zwicke is also active in the community and works with community gardens and has created large scale murals for Unitedway for their annual kick off events. She also is a published photographer and mural artist in her own right in which she is hired by private organizations and businesses to create projects. Ms. Zwicke is inspired by creating. She loves to work with students or adults of all ages. Ms. Zwicke is excited by the learning opportunities offered at Northpoint Lighthouse as their Artist in residence. Art infused learning is a path to the future for many scholars. She is happy to help with that process.
School Operations Manager

Denna Blue-Miller

Mrs. Denna Blue-Miller is the School Operations Manager. Mrs. Blue-Miller graduated from Alverno College in Milwaukee with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Additionally, she is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and Administrative Leadership. Mrs. Blue-Miller began her teaching career in 2001, when she taught grades Prekindergarten, 1st, 5th, and 6th grade. After eight years of teaching Mrs. Blue-Miller took on the role of Business Manager. In her role as School Operations Manager Mrs. Blue-Miller will manage all school operations and work closely with key community partners.
