Jamila MacArthur

Ms. MacArthur grew up in Clinton and Norman, Oklahoma. She joined Teach For America and moved to Los Angeles in 2005 where she taught for four years as an elementary classroom teacher in South Los Angeles. During her teaching commitment at TFA, she also served as a summer Faculty Advisor and Curriculum Coordinator for Grades 3-5. She then served as a Math Intervention Specialist for secondary math teachers and an Instructional Support Director coordinating professional development at KIPP LA. Most recently she served as Assistant Principal at KIPP Los Angeles Preparatory Academy. Ms. MacArthur holds a BA from the University of Oklahoma, an MA in Elementary Education from Loyola Marymount University, and an MA in Educational Administrative Leadership from California State University.

Mrs. Ross-Greene

Mrs. Ross-Greene served as the Student Support Services Director for KIPP LA Prep. While working for KIPP LA she also served as a Principal, Director of Instruction and teacher. As a teacher, more than 85% of her students scored Proficient or Advanced on the state standardized test. Prior to joining KIPP, she was the principal of Wilder’s Preparatory Academy Charter Elementary School and Middle School. Prior to her principalship, Mrs. Ross-Greene worked as a Resource Teacher at Laurel Street Elementary School in Compton, California. She also taught second and fifth grade for six years at Bunche Elementary in Compton, California. As a teacher, more than 90% of her students scored Proficient or Advanced on the state standardized test. Her skills and work ethic played a key role in Bunche Elementary School’s esteemed title as the first California Distinguished School and the first Title I award winning school to receive the honor in Compton Unified. Mrs. Ross-Greene was also a Pre-School Director in the 2008 Teach For America Los Angeles Summer Institute. She earned a Masters degree in Educational Leadership, with a Specialization in Administration, at the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at California State University Los Angeles.
