Indianapolis Lighthouse Charter School South Campus Honored as School of Excellence by Indianapolis Urban League

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – December 5, 2018 — Indianapolis Lighthouse Charter School South Campus was recently recognized as a school of excellence by the Indianapolis Urban League at the Educational Excellence Forum and Awards Luncheon held on Thursday, November 15, 2018. The Indianapolis South campus includes a lower academy with grades K through 6th and a college preparatory academy with grades 7th through 12th. Nominees for the Educational Excellence award are required to serve a diverse array of students such as free and reduced lunch, English language learners, and students who are racially and ethnically diverse. Nominated schools were also required to have excellent/high reading or other standardized assessment scores and have strong initiatives or target students in a way that sets them apart from their contemporaries. Lower Academy Principal Kim Randall speaks to the schools learning culture.
